Bysiewicz Exploratory Committee Raises $140,000 in 2nd Quarter of 2009

(Hartford) - Connecticut Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz today announced that her exploratory committee, Friends of Susan 2010, Inc. raised $141,005 in contributions during the 2nd quarter of 2009 between April 1st and June 30th and a total $239,530 since the campaign kicked off on February 6, 2009.
"I am very proud of the efforts made by members of my committee to reach this goal," said Bysiewicz. "The support from my contributors makes all the difference in the fight for our future as we try to revive our economy, improve our healthcare, educational and transportation systems and make Connecticut an attractive place for young people to live and start families. Our state faces many challenges and I am pleased that so many citizens agree that it is time for real leadership in Hartford."
In just 91 days of the 2nd quarter of 2009, Friends of Susan 2010, Inc. received contributions from 571 donors. Bysiewicz stated, "I am very proud to have broad-base support from over 140 towns across the state."
Bysiewicz, who has won three statewide elections by landslide margins, is exploring a run for governor of Connecticut in 2010.
